The mother was responsible for determining & documenting her dependent care plan and keeping it updated. She signed on the line stating who would take care of her child as well as got the appropriate Power of Attorney to care for the child. She was also responsible for keeping her leadership up-to-date on this plan (HER RESPONSIBLITY). If she had issues she should have brought them up early and found care. She knew the rules and DID NOT follow them. Yes i feel bad for the child, maybe getting court martialed and kicked out of the military will serve her best as she wouldn't have to deploy then.
I totally agree with trueblue!! PEOPLE MATTER!!! I agree that living up to responsibility is vital, but clearly she has a responsiblity to her baby as well. That should come first! Who of us, at 21 yrs. old, didn't make some decisions we might have done differently if we could go back? I for one, will be praying for this young girl and her baby.
